Raymond Edmond Carr
My Dad
Some things now I understand
Some things I never will
None of that matters anymore
Dad, I love you still.
I can't be there where you are
My prayers are with you constantly
Never has a day passed
That inmy mind, you I didn't see.
Oh, Dad you've always been so strong
Always walked straight and tall
Time has passed too quickly
Never thought that you could fall.
Your hair turned white with time
Your eyes a paler blue
Yet, through it al
I saw you stand tall and true.
You've seen more then you'd ever tell
Fought in 3 countries and returned
You've taught me much over the years
This lesson's just harder to learn.
I may be fortunate in a way
Not seeing you as you are today
You'll always be tall and strong for me
No matter what others may say.
I love you Dad; no matter what, now and always.
