Mark Philip Bullard

To My Second Child

Oh, my son, my second born

On a cold January morn

I loved you and I felt great joy

God, blessed me with another boy.

You were always wanting to know

About everything from dirt to snow

Ants and worms and frogs and snakes too

You brought them all hme to be with you.

Over the years you were the one

to keep me always on the run

Into one mess or another

You were truly like no other.

Never had a play pen could hold you

Broke every one and off you'd crawl to

Whatever it was your heart had set on

And once more I'd be on the run.

Bought you a walker, only once put you in it

You lifted it and fell the first minute

No cute baby swings for you

You were too active for these to.

Yo were born ready to run

Now you also have a son

May his days fill you with pleasure

And give your life a great treasure.
