Have You?
Have you ever walked a dirt road
In the middle of the afternoon?
Have you watched a ladybug
Or saw a Hummingbird in June?
Have you held an inch worm?
Have you caught a frog?
Have you washed clothes outdoors?
Have you sat in silence on a log?
Have you ever sat in the wood
In a clearing all alone?
Just sitting in the silence
Feeling right at home?
Have you ever seen the stars
Where they are the only light?
Except for the moon of course
That's a country night.
Have you ever been at peace?
To just sit still and sigh
Because it's all so beautiful
The dirt road and the sky.
The Cicada's and the Katydid's
The crickets and the toads
I remember all of these
And those dirt roads.
